Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur, celebrated Teachers’ Day on 3 September 2026 at
the BCTE Multipurpose Hall with great enthusiasm, joy and gratitude. The programme was
organised by the student teachers to honour and appreciate the teachers for their dedication,
guidance and contribution to the formation of future educators. The celebration was a beautiful
expression of the respect and affection that students have for their teachers.
The programme was hosted by Tsasepi and Rose, who welcomed everyone and guided the
programme smoothly. The celebration began with the Scripture Reading and Invocation led by
Sr. Minoti Hukai. The prayerful beginning set a meaningful tone for the celebration and reminded
everyone of the noble responsibility of teachers in shaping individuals and society.
This was followed by a Wishing Song, presented as a special expression of the students’ love and
appreciation for their teachers. The students then invited the Principal, Fr. Jose Joseph, to deliver
his speech. In his address, the Principal appreciated the efforts and commitment of the student
teachers in organising the programme. He also highlighted the importance of teachers as role
models who influence not only the academic growth of students but also their character, values,
attitudes and way of life. He encouraged the student teachers to become responsible, compassionate
and committed educators.
The celebration continued with a series of entertaining and creative performances. “The Shakers”
presented an energetic performance, followed by “Echoes of Melody,” which added a musical
touch to the celebration. The Words of Gratitude, delivered by Pynkmenborlang, expressed
heartfelt appreciation to the teachers for their patience, encouragement, guidance and constant
support.
The programme also included a lively Bosconian Retro presentation, bringing back memories of
the joyful Bosconian spirit. Lino K. Swu presented “Three Wooden Crosses,” adding a
meaningful and reflective element to the celebration. The students continued the entertainment with
“Such a Happy Day,” “Presentation,” “Rhyme + Irish Folk Tune,” “Nobody Can Dance,” and
“Falling Slowly.” These performances displayed the creativity, confidence, teamwork and talents
of the student teachers.
The celebration provided not only an opportunity for entertainment but also a valuable occasion for
strengthening the bond between teachers and students. The sincere efforts of the students in
preparing the programme reflected their gratitude and affection towards their teachers. The joyful
atmosphere, music, presentations and performances made the celebration memorable for everyone
present.
The programme concluded with an Entertainment session, followed by the Closing Prayer led by
Br. Bolan. The Teachers’ Day celebration at Bosco College of Teacher Education was a meaningful
and memorable occasion. It successfully conveyed the message that teaching is not merely a
profession but a vocation of service, guidance and transformation. The celebration ended with
grateful hearts, joyful memories and renewed appreciation for the teachers who continue to inspire
and guide future generations.
