Freshers Day Celebration at Bosco College of Teacher Education

On 21st August 2026, the Bosco College of Teacher Education hosted a vibrant and heartwarming Freshers Day celebration to welcome the newly admitted B.Ed. 1st Semester students. This special event was thoughtfully organized and managed by the 3rd Semester students, marking a memorable initiation for the fresh batch into college life and the teaching profession. The masters of ceremony were Gundailung and Amo.

The venue for the celebration was the Multipurpose Hall of the college, starting promptly at 9:00 am. The atmosphere was festive and welcoming, embodied perfectly by the event’s theme, “New beginnings, Bright futures.” The program was well-structured, featuring a variety of performances and speeches designed to engage, entertain, and inspire both freshers and seniors alike.

The event commenced with a prayer and invocation led by Sister Juliana, setting a positive and solemn tone for the day. The welcome speech was delivered by the principal Dr. Jose Joseph, who warmly greeted the freshers and encouraged them to embrace the journey ahead with enthusiasm and dedication. His motivating words were met with applause, energizing the audience for the activities to follow.

A highlight of the program was the “True Colors” segment performed by the senior students, showcasing their talent. This was followed by the introduction round of the freshers during the “Mr & Ms Freshers” segment, where the newcomers had their first moment to shine on stage.

Various group performances added excitement and charm to the event. The ‘Iconic Girls’ thrilled the audience with a lively performance, while a melodious group song by the juniors followed, beautifully highlighting their musical talents. In addition, the solo performances, like that of Eloziini L Alphonsa, captivated the crowd with expressive vocal artistry.

One of the most anticipated moments was the crowning ceremony during the “Mr & Ms Freshers” final round, symbolizing the recognition and encouragement given to the freshers who stood out in the event. This ceremony marked a symbolic welcoming, motivating the new students to take pride in their entry into the college community.

The program also featured unique items such as “Can’t stop falling in love with you ” performed by Maria Goretti Beck and a lively segment titled “Clock it” by The Cliques, which added variety and fun. Linoka K Jakha’s presentation provided a meaningful interlude that emphasized the importance of collaboration and learning.

As the event drew to a close, Amo delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, organizers, and attendees for making the celebration a success. Sister Grace led the closing prayer, bringing the program to a solemn and hopeful end.

Overall, the Freshers Day celebration was a resounding success, fostering a sense of unity, encouragement, and excitement within the college community. The careful planning and enthusiastic execution by the 3rd Semester students ensured a warm and joyful welcome for the new B.Ed. students, setting a positive tone for their academic journey ahead.
