Effective Teaching for Quality Teachers

PROGRAMME LEARNING OUTCOMES

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme aims to prepare prospective teachers with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for effective teaching. The following are the five Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs) for the B.Ed. course formulated by Bosco College of Teacher Education based on the B.Ed curriculum of Nagaland University:

  1. Pedagogical Knowledge and Skills: Teacher trainees will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of teaching methodologies, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques. They will be able to design and implement effective lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs and foster a positive learning environment.
  2. Subject Matter Expertise: Teacher trainees will be able to exhibit a strong command of the subject(s) they will be teaching. They will acquire skills to integrate content knowledge with pedagogical skills to deliver engaging and appropriate instruction.
  3. Classroom Management and Leadership: Teacher trainees will be able to develop effective classroom management strategies to create a conducive learning environment. They will be able to demonstrate leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate students, manage classroom dynamics, and address behavioural issues constructively.
  4. Educational Technology Proficiency: Teacher trainees will become proficient in using educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning. They will be able to integrate digital tools, and resources into their classroom instruction to support student engagement and learning outcomes.
  5. Professional and Ethical Practice: Teacher trainees will be able to demonstrate a commitment to professional ethics and continuous professional development. They will understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the teaching profession, engage in reflective practice, and participate in lifelong learning to stay updated with educational trends and best practices.
