Report on Self Defense
As part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrii Mahotsev (AKAM), to celebrate and commemorate the Nation’s 77th Independence Day, Bosco College of Teacher Education (BCTE), conducted a self-defense workshop for the 2nd semester students , under the guidance of the educators.
The workshop was conducted for eighty (80) minutes, which started in the afternoon at 12:30 pm at the college auditorium. The trainee incharge for the training of self-defense skill was Mr. Tokhou Humtsoe, a past pupil of Bosco College of Teacher Education.
The trainee incharge started the training by first giving an introduction on self-defense. He mentioned self-defense to be the right to protect one-self from force or violence through the use of a sufficient level of counteracting force or violence. He then continued by demonstrating situations and also ways to counterattack on being physically attacked by someone. The students imitated the demonstration and learnt effective self-defense skills to protect oneself from harm. Mr. Tokhuo Humtsoe, however, made it known to all, that the best self defense is to run away from the attacker or any situation that have the potential to lead into outburst of violence. And to be ready for countermeasure only when one is left with no choice.
The session concluded at 1:50 pm with a brief vote of thanks from the trainee incharge, and applause for all who contributed and participated in the conducted activity. The conducted workshop was successful, benefitting all with the knowledge and acquirement of basic skills which is essential to prepare one for the unexpected times.
