Anti-Ragging Policy
The Act of 1956, was amended in 2009 by UGC norms on reducing the threat of ragging in higher educational institutions. Based on this amendment, Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur has established its Anti-Ragging Cell with a strict Anti-Ragging Policy.
Vision:
In order to ensure accountability and justice in resolving any violation, the Anti-Ragging Cell envisions a campus free from harassment, establishing a culture of respect and safety for all students, guaranteeing accountability and justice in addressing any violations.
Objectives:
- To forbid any conduct by any student(s) as making fun of, mistreating, or acting rudely toward a fresher or any other student, whether by written or spoken words or deeds.
- To educate the students about the consequences of ragging.
- To continuously monitor and be vigilant about ragging in order to stop it from happening.
- To resolve any ragging-related issues and to take immediate action following the committee’s recommendations.
- There will be twice-yearly executive meetings for the Anti-Ragging Cell.
Punishment to those Found Guilty:
- A warning letter and an apology letter.
- A suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
- Removing or withholding fellowships, scholarships, and other benefits.
- Debarring from appearing in any assessment procedure.
- Withholding the results.
- Debarring from representing the College in any kind of event.
- Cancellation of admission.
- Expulsion from the institution for a period ranging from one to more semesters.
- Expulsion from the institution with a temporary ban on admission to any other institution.
