Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur was established in the year 2003 with the vision of giving a holistic and quality education for all teachers and aspiring future teachers. The main mission of BCTE is to prepare and form true and competent educators in knowledge, wisdom and virtue in order to serve the society and the future generations with sincerity, integrity and commitment. This vision and mission can be also achieved when everyone associated with the college equally exercise their valuable abilities, and thus the role of alumni plays an effective part in acquiring the mentioned vision and mission. The old students of BCTE were actively involved in the various activities and initiatives of the college previously also. However, the alumni association of Bosco College of Teacher Education was established in the year 2019 with the objective to bring together a common platform with the motive of creating an ‘Alumni Committee’. The Alumni Association is actively functional in a service mode. The alumni association often supports new alumni to create a feeling of oneness and also show support at times of any queries related to B. Ed. program and career opportunities are raised.

By forming the alumni association, the main objective was to enhance the relationship between student trainees, teacher educators, administrators and alumnae.

At BCTE, the alumni conduct their annual gathering every year. The college gives the alumni freedom and permission to come for visitation or organize any program for the current student trainees.

For their general meetings there is a separate place called ‘Multi-purpose hall’ in the college premises, where they can discuss, plan, talk to each other and even they can execute their planning with the help of college faculties and other student trainees.

Alumni are also invited not only for meetings and functions but occasionally they are invited for morning talks in the college in order to motivate and nurture them effectively. Thus alumni contribute effectively to the career prospects and academic training of the current students. Besides, it aims at offering opportunities which can connect recent graduates with established professionals and help them pursue higher education or career.

Some of the objectives of the alumni association are mentioned below:

• To maintain the updates and current information of all alumni.
• To initiate services in the development of the college.
• To motivate new student trainees.
• To maintain consistency to have a sense of belonging to the Alma Mater.
• To provide information related to any job openings.

The college also encourages them to actively take part in alumni gatherings or meetings with the motive of improving the college.

The Alumni association has contributed liberally towards the development of the institution through generous material contributions like clock, water filters, waste bin, frame etc. 

The involvement of alumni in supporting and providing contributions voluntarily to the college has been of great help in expanding college development.

Alumni of Bosco College of Teacher Education are well placed in various fields like teaching, education, professional fields, academic and social work.

Every alumnus is experienced from being a student to becoming a unique and different graduate, hence there is a potential for all alumni to contribute to the institution in different ways and means.
