Bosco College of Teacher Education celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2024 on the theme ‘Land Restoration, desertification and drought resilience’ by NSS volunteers and the faculty members. Fifty students of NSS club took part in the activities. A short programme was organized followed by some activities under the leadership of NSS programme officer Mrs. Arino Nakhro. Activities included a speech, pledge and student-led initiatives like campus clean-ups and tree plantations. The programme aimed to raise awareness, foster environment responsibility, promote sustainable practices and encourage active participation for the protection of the environment. The theme emphasized the urgent need to revive and restore damaged ecosystems worldwide. It highlighted the critical role that healthy ecosystems play in maintaining biodiversity, combating climate change, and ensuring food and water security. The focus is on taking collective action to restore forests, wetlands, grasslands, and other vital ecosystems to their natural state, thereby promoting a sustainable future for all.
