Annual Sports Meet – 2024 at Bosco College of Teacher Education Dimapur

Bosco College of Teacher Education Dimapur celebrated its Annual Sports Meet from Thursday 15th to Saturday 17th February 2024, marking three days of spirited competition and mutual trust and friendship among its students. The event commenced with the Inaugural Session on Thursday, 15th February 2024, at 09:00 am, setting the tone for an exhilarating display of athleticism and sportsmanship.

The Inaugural Function commenced with a solemn yet uplifting atmosphere, featuring Scripture Reading and Prayer to invoke blessings for the success and safety of the sports meet. Words of Welcome resonated through the gathering, extending warm greetings to all participants, staff, and esteemed guests present. The melodious rendition of the Anthem by the Houses echoed a sense of unity and pride among the students.

The Chief Guest for the occasion, Rev. Fr. V. A. Thomas, the Director of Salesian College of Higher Education, delivered an enlightening message emphasizing the significance of sports in holistic development. He underscored the importance of nurturing the union of mind, body, and heart through active participation in sports activities. Rev. Fr. Thomas eloquently highlighted the role of sports in honing skills and fostering a sense of discipline and teamwork among the youth.

Following the inspiring address, the Chief Guest declared the Annual Sports Meet officially open, signaling the commencement of the much-anticipated sporting events. The participants, brimming with enthusiasm and determination, took the Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to fair play and sportsmanship.

Fr. Sabu, the Principal of Bosco College of Teacher Education shared words of encouragement and motivation, urging the students to showcase their talent and dedication throughout the sports meet. The day’s events were announced, encompassing a diverse range of sporting disciplines catering to the varied interests and abilities of the participants.

The sports events featured a blend of traditional and contemporary games, including Volleyball for both boys and girls, Basketball, Pyramid, Football, Badminton Mixed Doubles, Penalty Shootout, 100-Meter Race, Tug of War, Musical Chairs, Spoon and Marble Race, Sack Race, Relay, Mega Dance, and culminated with the Anthem performed by all the houses.

The spirited participation and fervent involvement of the students illuminated the sports arena, creating an atmosphere charged with excitement and energy. Beyond mere competition, the Annual Sports Meet served as a platform for valuable learning experiences, instilling essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship among the participants.

The culmination of the sports meet witnessed the Yellow House emerge as the champions, showcasing exceptional talent and unity throughout the competitions. Their victory symbolized the collective effort and dedication of the entire student body, reflecting the ethos of excellence and mutual trust and friendship fostered at Bosco College of Teacher Education.
