Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur Nagaland organized cleanliness drive on 13th October, 2023, from 12:30 pm- 2:30 pm. as part of Swachchta Pakhwada under the aegis of Special Campaign 3.0. It was a community- driven initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and hygiene.
The first year students of Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur, under the guidance of the principal, Rev. Dr. Fr. Jose Joseph and teaching faculty Ms. Lucia Hans Dhan, Ms. Thejangutoii Liegise and Mr. Dipak Borah, carried out a cleanliness drive inside and outside the college campus. They engaged in various cleaning activities, including litter collection, sweeping, waste segregation, weeding, grazing, dusting, wet mopping and proper disposal.
Swachhata Pakwada is a cleanliness drive under the Swatch Bharat Mission, the flagship program of the Government, initiated by the Prime Minister to fulfill the dream of Mahatma Gandhi to make India a clean and hygienic India. It was launched by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs during the second fortnight of April, 2023.
The area experienced a significant improvement in terms of cleanliness and hygiene. Litter and waste were effectively reduced. The event fostered a sense of community and encouraged residents to take ownership of their environment. The cleanliness drive was a successful initiative that resulted in a cleaner and more engaged community. With continued efforts and support, the locality can maintain a high standard of cleanliness and promote a healthier living environment.
