A 2 Days Orientation program was conducted by DBYES (Don Bosco Youth and Education Services) for the 1st semester students of BCTE on 30th and 31st August 2023. The resource persons were Fr. Dr. Peter Salew sdb (Director of Salesian Youth Ministry), Mr. Alan Paul, Ms. Claire Mahung and Mr. Lawrence Dhanwar. They are youth animators of DBYES. The orientation was divided into 5 Sessions each day.
The first session was taken up by Fr. Dr. Peter Salew Sdb on the topic “Strategies to help students adapt to new environment college”. The main topics dealt with were, “Time management”, “Personality Development”, “’Top 10 study habits of topper students”, “4 Pillars of Education according to UNESCO”, “3 pillars of Don Bosco Educational Philosophy”, “Bosconian Method of Education”, “Confidence Building”, “Stress Management”, “Team Building” and “Character Building” Amidst the sessions the teacher trainees were divided into 10 groups and were given 10 minutes to present their creativity skills with the use of newspapers after which they were given the time for presentations of their items on the stage as well. Short videos with morals were also shown through projector to the teacher trainees. Teacher trainees were also taught various action songs and some warm up exercises. As a whole the program was very useful to the students. They were able to learn about the Top 10 study habits, Personality Development, Confidence Building, Stress Management, Team Building and Character Building which are very much needed for their development.
